May 16, 2025: Friday Medley

Happy Friday!

Destination Recital Success!

We held our first annual Destination Recital last weekend (May 10, 2025), and it was a success! Students performed magnificently at the Temple Adat Shalom in Poway, we all enjoyed lots of beautiful and exciting music, and had great fun at the Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad.

Now we’ve begun planning next year’s Destination Recital, 2026!

Musical Ladder Begins May, 2025

Very soon, by next week, students will begin receiving their first wristbands and certificates! Students who have been at the studio for three months or longer will receive either their Apprentice band, or a higher level, depending on their longevity.

Newer students who have been with the studio for less than three months will be “on the ladder,” and eligible for their Apprentice band after completion of their third month!

Start earning and collecting your wristbands! Light up with pride at each achievement, and feel a real sense of accomplishment as you climb the ladder toward your musical goals.

CPT Shares Music with Others!

Our next CPT recital is this Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Trabuco Hills Post Acute in Lake Forest.

Summer Camps for Beginner Piano & General Music

We are hosting two summer camps this year for beginner piano and general music.

Camp participants will learn to play the piano during 15 hours of music lessons over five days during the summer months, in the mornings. Students will play the piano, enjoy musical arts & crafts, experiment with drums & rhythm percussion, and perform in a small group recital for family & friends at the end!

Details:

Ages 7-10
Mornings, 9:00 am to 12:00 noon
One Week Duration (5 Days, M-F)
$399 per camp session
(3 hours per day, 5 days = 15 hours total camp duration)
(Sibling & Friends discounts may apply)

Camps are designed for beginners, age 7-10, who will learn some basics, get to know their way around the piano, play some songs, feel the beat, sing a little, enjoy some musical arts & crafts, and perform some music in a small group recital!

Families can select from two camp options:

Summer Recitals

It’s time to start planning for summer 2025 recitals!

Performing music and playing the piano for others should be enjoyable and rewarding experiences. We hold frequent recitals and provide many performance opportunities in order to help make performing music and playing the piano for others easier and less stressful.

Sometimes, we want to show off a big accomplishment - like a piano piece we have worked on for a long time and perfected. But we don’t have to do that! Other times, we can show the audience what we are working on, perhaps part of a piece that is not yet fully learned. And we can perform some pieces more than once — the way professionals do! In this way, we help music students reduce performance anxiety and the feeling that playing the piano is an all-or-nothing, succeed-or-fail activity — like high-stakes testing in general education! It’s not — it’s making music together!

Even with this more nurturing philosophy about recitals and performances, we can still work hard on perfecting some pieces and preparing for exams, auditions, and competitions. If we want to! Each student can be the performer they want to be! And each student is free to grow and evolve, set new goals, and change over time.

A: Yes! We strive to be active in our community!

We have been a member of the Chamber since 2023, and we often participate in their activities. We frequently attend the Friday morning breakfasts, mixers, ribbon cuttings, and we will have a booth at this summer’s July 4th pancake breakfast at Crown Valley Park. You can find us in their member directory online on this page:
